Two local athletes were named to the 40-man roster for the Alabama team in the Alabama-Mississippi All-Star Game to be held Dec. 14 in Montgomery.
Demopolis all-around athlete Demetrius Kemp was selected as a wide receiver to represent the state in the game, and Sweet Water’s Jakoby Aldridge was selected as a defensive back.
Aldridge is the only player in the state selected from a Class 2A school. The roster is filled with players from 5A and 6A schools.
The Alabama squad will be looking for its sixth straight win over Mississippi when they meet at Cramton Bowl in December. Overall, Alabama leads the series 19-7.
