Fall gardening seminar to be held at Magnolia Grove

On Thursday, Oct. 17, Jason Powell of Petals from the Past in Jemison will present a fall gardening seminar at Magnolia Grove in Greensboro.
Beginning at 11 a.m., Jason will discuss the best heirloom plant varieties for your fall garden and will have plants for sale. Co-hosted by the Greensboro Garden Club and the Black Belt Master Gardeners, the $15 ticket price, or $20 per couple, will cover the seminar and a picnic lunch. Tickets for the seminar only are $10. Magnolia Grove will be open for guided tours before and after the seminar. A discount for seminar attendees will be given. A historic site of the Alabama Historical Commission, the Greek Revival style house was built around 1840 by Isaac Croom. It is also the boyhood home of Spanish-American War hero and progressive statesman Richmond Pearson Hobson.
Magnolia Grove is located at 1002 Hobson Street in Greensboro’s historic district.
