The Alabama Sports Writers Association released their weekly high school football rankings Wednesday, and there is not much change for Marengo County teams from the pre-season rankings.
Demopolis, who came into the season ranked No. 10 in the Class 5A poll, moved up two spots to No. 8 after defeating ACA 35-0 last week.
The Linden Patriots dropped a few spots this week in the Class 1A poll after dropping their season opener to Leroy. They came into the season in the No. 3 spot, but they now sit at No. 7 following the loss.
The Sweet Water Bulldogs were unranked in the preseason poll, but appeared on the list of teams receiving votes in Class 2A. After their loss to Class 4A opponent Thomasville, the Bulldogs no longer appear on that list.
Marengo Academy, after winning their opener over South Choctaw Academy in convincing fashion, still appears on the list of teams receiving votes outside the top 10 in the AISA poll.
