James David Huckabee

James David Huckabee, 93, of Demopolis died Sunday, Aug. 11 at Bryan W. Whitfield Memorial Hospital.
He was born Oct. 30, 1919 in Wayne to the late Eugene S. and Nettie Huckabee. He was a veteran of World War II, and he received a Purple Heart and Bronze Star. He proudly served the United States for 35 months overseas.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Eugene S. and Nettie Huckabee; wife, Eloise Tucker Huckabee; daughter, Mary Angel Huckabee; sisters, Virginia Hill and Myrtle Hill; brothers, Pitman Huckabee, James Huckabee, Woodie Huckabee and Jackson Huckabee.
He is survived by his daughter, Penny H. Grantham of Demopolis; son, Marvin Donald (Linda) Huckabee of Demopolis; six grandchildren; five great-grandchildren; and a host of nieces and nephews.
Funeral services were held Wednesday, Aug. 14 at First Baptist Church of Demopolis at 2 p.m. with the Rev. Carl Williams and Tom Boggs officiating and Kirk Funeral Homes Demopolis Chapel directing. The family received friends at the church from 1-2 p.m. Burial followed at Demopolis Memorial Gardens.
Pallbearers were Trent Parker, Austin Grantham, Lucas Grantham, Kevin Minor, David Huckabee, Ron Andress and Clifford Tucker.
Honorary pallbearers were members of the Campground Church.
