The Alabama Sports Writers Association released their preseason football poll Wednesday, and four Marengo County teams appear in the rankings.

Demopolis comes into the season as the No. 10 team in Class 5A. The Tigers are coming off of a 9-3 season in 2012.

Sweet Water is ranked just outside the top 10 in Class 2A after they finished the 2012 season with an 11-3 record and a semifinal appearance in the playoffs.

Linden High School is the highest ranked team in the county going into the season, as they are No. 3 in the Class 1A rankings. The Patriots are coming off of an 11-2 season in 2012.

In the AISA poll, Marengo Academy appears outside the top 10, but they still received a few votes. They are coming off of a 7-5 season in 2012 and a semifinal appearance in the playoffs.
