LIVINGSTON – Former Tiger Wrangler Justin Caylor has been named interim head rodeo coach at the University of West Alabama, according to an announcement today by Director of Athletics Stan Williamson.
Caylor will handle the head coaching duties on an interim basis while a national search is conducted to replace Chad Phipps, who guided the UWA rodeo program from 2007 through 2013.
Caylor was a member of the West Alabama rodeo team from Fall 2007 through Spring 2011 and has served as an assistant coach at West Alabama for the last two years.
The Tiger Wranglers compete in the Ozark Region of the National Intercollegiate Rodeo Association, where the men finished third in 2012-13. Tiger freshman Zach Wilson won the 2013 national championship in tie down roping.
