DPD bikes good for Demopolis

The Demopolis Police Department recently purchased two bicycles to add to their fleet, and it has been a great thing for the community so far.
First of all, it provides community policing. It allows the officers to interact with the citizens of Demopolis in a more personal manner. This is especially good with children, because, unfortunately, they are sometimes taught that the police only come around when bad things happen. The community can get to know the officers better and be more familiar with what they are doing for Demopolis.
Second, the bikes save money for the department and the city. With two officers on the bikes instead of in normal squad cars, it saves money on fuel as well as normal wear and tear on the vehicles. In addition, the bikes are more environmentally friendly than cars.
DPD Chief Tommie Reese and his department have done a great job keeping the city of Demopolis a safe place to live. Their hard work and dedication is appreciated by many in the community.
