The Missoula Children’s Theatre returned to Demopolis this summer during the week of June 24-28, and children in kindergarten through the eighth grade participated in the production of “The Tortoise Versus the Hare.”

Auditions for the play were held Monday, June 24, and the children had just four days to learn the songs and their lines for the Friday show.

The show was held Friday at 5 p.m. at the Demopolis High School Auditorium.

The cast members were: Baker Cannon, Julia Singleton, Mary Pagel McAfee, Maddie Malone, Mary Foster, Thomas Milam, Tabitha Wilson, Elias Smith, Antwaniqua Alston, Rachel England, Abby Williams, Marta Velazquez, Kaitlyn Sample, Russell Dial, Kendra Bruno, Marlana Mitchell, Silas Wilson, Benjamin Smith, Audrey Akins, Charity Singleton, Matthew Foster, Tristan McKinley, Collin Howe, Thomas Bedsole, John David Bedsole, Zachary Caudle, Caroline Mullins, Sarah Lydia Velasquez, Sariah Smith, Skylar Scott, Abby Acker, Danya Jones, Ada Files and Anna Rene Lewis.

The play is part of the annual summer enrichment programs at Westside Elementary School and U.S. Jones Elementary School.
