As the temperatures rise, vacations are taking place and children are outside playing. Also with the change of season, comes time for Vacation Bible School.

Signs can be found hanging outside of churches advertising their events’ theme, time and location all in hopes of teaching children more about Christ.

“We hope for boys and girls to grow more in love with Jesus and we hope to bring our children to Christ,” First Baptist Church of Demopolis pastor Carl Williams said.

First Baptist Church will hold their VBS this June 3-7 from 8:30 to noon with the theme Colossal Coastal World.

Williams said they have a great time at VBS and a great group of helpful volunteers.

The First United Methodist Church in Demopolis is also preparing for VBS this year with their theme Kingdom Rock…Where kids stand strong for God. The event is for rising kindergarten through fifth and will take place June 24-28 from 1:30-5 p.m.

“Our theme this year is Kingdom Rock…where kids stand strong for God.  It is our prayer that Kingdom Rock VBS will allow God’s love to come to life like never before drawing kids and adults closer to Christ,” Jennifer Jordan of First United Methodist Church said.

Other VBS information for area churches are as follows:

Canal Heights Church of Christ VBS will be held June 3-7 from 9-11:30 a.m. and open to ages third through fifth grades. The theme is Circus of Faith.

Gallion Baptist Church will hold VBS on June 17-21 from 6-8 p.m. The theme is Colossal Coaster World.

Sweet Water Baptist Church will have VBS from June 17-21 from 5:30-8:30 p.m. Supper will be served each night.

Saints Tabernacle Church of Christ in Demopolis will hold Vacation Bible School on June 10-13 from 9 a.m. to 12:30 p.m. The theme is Text Jesus.

The First Presbyterian Church of Demopolis will hold VBS with the theme of The Case of the Baffling Beginnings. The VBS will take place June 10-14 from 9 a.m. to noon.

Mt. Zion #2 Baptist Church will have VBS  June 10-14 from 5:30 p.m. to 7:00 p.m.

St. Paul Baptist Church will hold VBS on June 17-19 from 5:30-7:30 p.m.

Jefferson will hold VBS July 15-19 from 8:30-11:30 a.m. The VBS is for ages three through sixth grade. The theme is “Kingdom Rock” and will be hosted by Jefferson United Methodist Church and Jefferson Baptist Church to take place at Jefferson Baptist Church. 

River of Life Church is having a Kids Crusade starting on Sun night from July 28-30 at 6 p.m.
