A new website will allow Marengo County residents to take care of many things that would have previously required a trip to the courthouse.

The website, www.marengocountyal.com, has tabs for the Revenue Commissioner, Probate Judge, county commission and several other county offices.

Marengo County Revenue Commissioner Sharon Barkley said the new site allows residents to do many things online with a credit card now.

“Customers will be able to pay their taxes online, print forms such as current use, homestead exemption and business personal property,” she said. “It has been one of my goals since being appointed Revenue Commissioner to have a website and offer customers the choice to pay with their credit/debit cards. I’m happy this has come to fruition.”

In addition to the Revenue Commissioners’ services, residents can also renew their tags and view the Marengo County GIS, a mapping service.

There is also a list of important dates, including when the courthouse is closed for holidays.
