A special type of music will fill the air of the Demopolis First United Methodist Church on Friday, May 31.

The Mwangaza Choir of Uganda will visit Demopolis this month after a connection made by Demopolis’ own Sydney Hasty.

There are about 20 children in the choir and about 30 total people including adults.

The choir members will staying with host families during their stay in Demopolis, said youth director Jennifer Jordan.

Hasty worked with some of the children when she went on a mission trip to Uganda. She assisted in scheduling the choir before she returned to the states.

The event is set for Friday, May 31 at 7 p.m. at the First United Methodist Church.
