DHS track competes in 25-team Dallas County meet

The Demopolis High School track team competed on the road Tuesday at Dallas County. The Tigers were one of 25 teams that competed.
In the boys 4×400-meter relay, the Tigers’ team of Cortez Lewis, Demetrius Kemp, Tyler Coleman and Rodney Harper ran a time of 3:34, which was good enough to bring home a bronze medal.
In the boys 400-meter dash, Harper, with a time of 50.8 seconds, earned bronze.
In the boys long jump, Kemp earned silver with a jump of 19-feet, 5-inches.
Kessy Bell earned a bronze in the boys shot put with a throw of 42-feet, 4-inches.
Gracie Boykin, a seventh-grader for the Tigers, earned silver in the 1600-meter run with a time of 6:21.
Samantha Williams, an eighth-grader, earned bronze in shot put with a throw of 28-feet, 9-inches.
The Tigers will host a meet Thursday afternoon beginning at 3:30 p.m.
