That’s Fishing

Due to the fact that Demopolis is surrounded by some of the best fishing holes in the great state of Alabama and the fact that the people of Demopolis and it’s surrounding areas love to fish, The Demopolis Times will be implementing a new section to it’s sports page that will focus on nothing more than fishermen and the fish they catch. The name of this new section will be called, “That’s Fishing.”
Each week in our Saturday edition, The Demopolis Times will feature one lucky fisherman with the catch of week. Whether its one big ole catfish like those of Spencer Edwards, James Smith and Andy Gates, or a large number of smaller fish like those of Henry Johnson, “That’s Fishing” is were you can find it.
Edwards caught his 56-pound catfish on Thursday at the Lower Pool of the Demopolis Lock and Dam. James Smith’s 57-pound catfish he caught at the Gainesville Lock and Dam back in March along with those of Henry Johnson. Whatever the case may be, you catch it, and we’ll put in the paper.
This new section goes for any and all fish, not just catfish. And for any and all locations in The Demopolis Times region, which includes: Perry County, Hale County, Marengo County, Sumter County and Green County.
