There have been no new developments in the ongoing negotiations between the Linden City Board of Education and Dr. Tyrone Smith, who was offered the positions of superintendent and Linden Elementary School principal on June 23.
“I actually talked with Dr. Smith (Thursday),” said Linden City Schools attorney Alex Braswell. “His attorney is still not back in the country yet, but Dr. Smith assured me that he is very excited and ready to get to work.”
Braswell said that Smith’s attorney, John Sexton, is expected to be back in the United States on Tuesday, July 13.
The Linden City Board of Education will hold a called board meeting on Monday at 10 a.m. at the school board office. The public is invited to attend.
