LIVINGSTON – Following strong performances in West Alabama’s first GSC Baseball Tournament appearance in nine years, junior Brandon Boles and sophomore Dustin Roberts were named to the All-Tournament

Boles, a native of Kokomo, Ind., finished second on the team with a .389 batting average, while stealing a school record 31 bases (40 attempts). At the tournament in Millington, Tenn., on May 6-9, Boles hit .438 over the Tiger’s four games, including a pair of doubles and was a perfect 2-of-2 in stolen bases.
Roberts, a native of Demopolis, Ala., led all West Alabama hitters in 2004 with 13 home runs and 55 RBI, while hitting .333 as the everyday right fielder. At the tourney, he hit .438, including two doubles, UWA’s only home run and a team leading six RBI.
West Alabama concluded the tournament with a record of 2-2, defeating Alabama-Huntsville (5-4) and West Florida (6-4), while narrowly losing to eventual champion Delta State (12-11) and semifinalist Southern Arkansas (7-3). The Tigers closed the season with a mark of 33-22.
