Oscar Ernest Thrash

Oscar Ernest Thrash, 88, of Sweet Water died Sunday, Feb. 24 at his home.

He was born Dec. 8, 1924, in Selma. He was a retired shift operator with William Gas Pipeline Company. He was a member of the Campground United Methodist Church and a U.S. Army veteran.

He is survived by his wife, Mildred B. Thrash of Sweet Water; daughters, Linda Faye Gunter of Sweet Water and Vonda T. Wilson of Linden; brother, Donald A. Thrash of Sweet Water; four grandchildren and five great-grandchildren.

Funeral services were held at Campground United Methodist Church on Tuesday, Feb. 26 at 2 p.m. with the Rev. Lee Roy Shaw officiating. Burial was at Campground UMC Cemetery in Sweet Water.

Active pallbearers were Roger Gunter, Dan Gunter, Jeff Nettles, Clay Nettles, Matthew Gunter and D.J. Nettles.

Honorary pallbearers were the employees of Williams Gas Pipelines.
