Dallas, Hale County men killed in separate car accidents over weekend

Wrecks in two neighboring counties claimed the lives of two men over the weekend.
A single-vehicle crash Friday afternoon claimed the life of a Selma man at approximately 4:30 p.m. on Alabama 21, one mile south of Selma.
James Earl Stratman, 52, was driving a 1986 Chevrolet S-10 when he ran off the road and struck a utility pole. Stratman, who was not wearing a seat belt, was pronounced dead at the scene.
Although the crash is still under investigation, Alabama State Troopers say alcohol was a factor.
A single-vehicle crash early Saturday morning claimed the life of a Sawyerville man at 2 a.m. on Alabama 14, four miles west of Sawyerville.
Kendrick Dorail Fields, 30, was driving a 1987 Chevrolet pickup when he ran off the road, struck a ditch and overturned. Fields, who was not wearing a seat belt, was pronounced dead at the scene.
This crash is also under investigation, but Alabama State Troopers say alcohol was a factor in this accident as well.
