We are honored to announce that State Rep. Artis J. McCampbell and State Sen. Bobby D. Singleton have been named the Grand Marshals for the 2024 Christmas on the River celebration.

Both leaders, proud representatives of Alabama’s Black Belt, have been dedicated advocates for our community and have worked tirelessly to improve the lives of its residents.

Rep. McCampbell and Sen. Singleton played a vital role in bringing the Alabama School of Healthcare Sciences to Demopolis, working hard to secure bipartisan support and ensuring the school’s development in our city.

Rob Pearson, President of the Alabama School of Healthcare Sciences Foundation, expressed his gratitude, stating:

“We are thrilled to see Bobby Singleton and AJ McCampbell recognized as the 2024 Grand Marshals for Christmas on the River. From the beginning, Bobby and AJ were committed to creating the Alabama School of Healthcare Sciences and worked tirelessly to secure bipartisan support. More importantly, they deserve our gratitude for standing up for our city and ensuring the school will be built in Demopolis. Their dedication has inspired our team, community, and state leaders.”

Rep. McCampbell, who is married to the former Diana England, is the proud father of two daughters, Erica D. Hargrove and Calida Joy McCampbell. In his spare time, he enjoys bowling, reading, singing, and playing golf.

Sen. Singleton, who enjoys hunting, traveling, and fishing, is a proud member of Greenleaf Missionary Baptist Church and the Omega Psi Phi Fraternity.

Their continued dedication to the growth and progress of Demopolis and west Alabama remains an inspiration to our community. We look forward to celebrating their contributions as Grand Marshals at Christmas on the River 2024!
