Demopolis volleyball (5-9) packed eight games and 19 matches into five days last week and put more than 500 miles on the school bus traveling between The City of the People and Selma, Moundville and Orange Beach.
Demopolis volleyball cruised to its third win of the season on the road at Selma last Tuesday, routing the Saints 25-6; 25-7; 25-11.
Two days later, the Tigers hit the road to Hale County High, picking up wins 4 and 5 in a trimatch. Demopolis made quick work of the hosting Wildcats (25-22, 25-6), before dispatching Gordo (25-11, 25-6).
The road-weary Tigers lost five matches at the Mako’s Volleyball Battle at the Beach tournament, falling to American Christian Friday in three sets and in two sets Saturday to Baldwin County, Orange Beach High and Decatur, and in three sets to Bayshore Christian.
The Tigers play at home for just the second time this season Tuesday, hosting Montevallo. They will return to the highway Wednesday for a 100-mile roundtrip road game against Bibb County High in Centreville.
