The Demopolis City Council has postponed a vote to rezone the old school on Main Street, Mayor Woody Collins said during the city council work session.
The post also said a vote on the issue would not be possible until the Thursday, September 19, meeting at 5:15 p.m. at Rooster Hall.
During the work session, however, the new public hearing was scheduled for Oct. 3.
The Demopolis Planning Commission considered the issue during a meeting in July, where the commissioners voted 4-4. The vote to recommend the zoning change failed, but the City Council will have the final say on any zoning issues.
The proposal was first issued by Lathan Construction during the June meeting.
