The following is a list of local church events in Marengo County:

  • The Coming Together Organization will have its back-to-school backpack giveaway Saturday, August 3, from 9 a.m. to 2 p.m. at the Theo Ratliff Activity Center. To donate to the cause, make checks payable to The Coming Together Organization and mail them to P.O. Box 1084, Demopolis, AL 36732. This is a 501c3 nonprofit organization.
  • Lewis Chapel AME Zion Church will have a back-to-school giveaway Saturday, August 3, from 10 a.m. to noon. Sponsors for the giveaway include James Chapel, New Life Outreach Ministries and Livingston chapter of the Delta Sigma Theta sorority.
  • Lo Webb Production presents Eutaw Praise at 3:30 p.m. Sunday, August 4, at New Generation Community Outreach Center, located at 119 Louis Barnett Jr. Street in Eutaw.. The purple carpet affair features The Canton Spirituals, Willie Banks Jr. & the Messengers, George Dean & The Gospel Four, Flossie Boyd Johnson & Favor, Men of Prayze, The Echoairs, Pastor Marcus Newsom and the Newsom Singers, Glorified, The Johnson Brothers and Glory to Glory.   • Creation Ministries International will have two classes on Sunday, August 4, at Linden Baptist Church. At 5 p.m., they will conduct the class titled “Creation: What’s the Big Deal?” A second topic at 6 p.m. will focus on Dinos & Fossils: Amazing Evidence for Creation.” Keaton Halley of CMI will be the guest speaker.
  • Greater New Hope Baptist Church, located at 510 N. Chestnut Street in Demopolis, will have a revival August 5-7 at 7 p.m. nightly. Guest evangelist is Pastor Tim Jones of St. John PB Church in De Kalb, Mississippi. Pastor is Honoree Lockett.
  • St. Paul United Methodist Church located at 621 Greensboro Street in Eutaw will have revival services August 5-7 at 7 p.m nightly with the Rev. Dr. Carlton L. Hogue, pastor of First Baptist Church of Thomasville. The Rev. Latonya Brown is pastor.
  • Pineville Baptist Church in Gilbertown invites everyone to its annual homecoming and revival services. Homecoming will begin Sunday, August 11, at 10:40 a.m. with guest speaker the Rev. Advial McKenzie, Pastor of the St. Matthew Baptist Church in Shubuta, Mississippi, and the Shiloh Baptist Church in Quitman, Mississippi. Revival services will be as follows: Monday, August 12, at 7 p.m. with the Rev. Clayton Davis Jr., pastor of White Chapel Baptist Church in Cullomburg and Union Baptist Church in Coffeeville; Tuesday, August 13, at 7 p.m. with the Rev. Kennith Jefferson, pastor of Butler Chapel AME Zion Church in Butler; and Wednesday, August 14, at 7 p.m. with McKenzie.
  • Moscow Provident Missionary Baptist Church, located at 33770 Alabama Highway 28 in Demopolis, will have its Pastors’ Appreciation to honor Pastor Timothy J. Page for 18 years of hard work and dedication to the ministry. The event will be Sunday, August 11, 2 p.m. Pastor Ashford Jackson, Pastor of Evening Star Baptist Church in Gallion, will serve as guest speaker for this program. Minister Lawaynemon White, Associate Minister of Hopewell Baptist Church in Linden, will serve as Pulpit Conductor.
  • Gin Creek Missionary Baptist Church in Gilbertown invites everyone to its annual homecoming and revival services. It begins Sunday, August 18, at 11 a.m. with morning worship and the Rev. Dr. Lewis Jefferson, pastor, speaking. Homecoming follows at 1:30 p.m. with the Rev. Aquila Pack, pastor of Salem Baptist Church in Butler. Revival services will be Monday, August 19, at 7:30 p.m. with the Rev. John Lacy, pastor of New Zion Baptist Church in Shubuta, MIssissippi, and Pleasant Grove Baptist Church in Waynesboro, Mississippi; Tuesday, August 20, at 7:30 p.m. with the Rev. David Lewis, pastor of New Hope Baptist Church in Waynesboro, Mississippi; Wednesday, August 21, at 7:30 p.m. with the Rev. Larry Pickens, pastor of Pleasant Hill Baptist Church in Meridian, MIssissippi; and Thursday, August 22, at 7:30 p.m. with Elder David Lewis, pastor of the New Hope Baptist Church in Magnolia.
  • Saint Paul Baptist Church invites the public to be a part of its Sunday worship. Sunday School begins at 9:30 a.m. and morning worship begins at 10:30 a.m. Dr. Jeffery D. Webb is the Pastor. Saint Paul Baptist Church is located at 1809 Old Springhill Road in Demopolis. 
  • Mount Olive Baptist Church will be hosting grief classes every second Monday of each month. Phillip White is the Pastor. The church is located at 12024 U.S. Highway 80 in Gallion.
  • The Christian Chapel Baptist Church family welcomes you to join us in worshiping Christ. On Sundays, Sunday School begins at 9 a.m. Morning worship begins at 10:45 a.m. On Wednesdays Bible Study begins at 6 p.m. New members classes are held on Sundays at 9:30 a.m. and Wednesdays at 5 p.m.
  • Friendship Baptist Church on Highway 80 East in Demopolis would like to welcome everyone to fellowship with them on Sundays. Sunday School begins at 9:15 a.m., and morning worship begins at 10:15 a.m. The Rev. Patrick Simmons is the Pastor.
  • Eastern Star Baptist Church on 701 Third Avenue welcomes everyone to join them on Sundays at 9:30 am for Sunday School, and morning worship at 10:30 am. The Rev. Terry L. Gosa is the Pastor.
