A Uniontown man died early Friday morning after he was involved in a single-vehicle crash near the Marengo County line.

The Alabama Law Enforcement Agency identified the victim as Keyshawn L. Patterson, 20, of Uniontown. He was driving a 2008 Honda Accord LX on Alabama 69 near mile marker 96 in Hale County about five miles north of Gallion. There, his vehicle reportedly left the roadway and struck a wooden fence multiple times at 1:56 a.m. Friday.

ALEA’s press release indicated that Patterson was not using a seat belt at the time of the crash and was pronounced deceased at the scene.

ALEA’s Highway Patrol Division is investigating the crash.
