Amber Lewis, Trynnady Aldridge attend Alabama Girls State

Rising high school seniors Amber Lewis and Trynnady Aldridge both represented Marengo County at Alabama Girls State June 2-7 at Troy University.
Alabama Girls State is a week-long, fun-filled, hands-on learning opportunity for some of the best and brightest young women in the State of Alabama. Sponsored by the American Legion Auxiliary, Alabama Girls State is a premier youth leadership program which offers a one-of-a-kind experience to its delegates. This was the 82nd session of Girls State.
Both students learned about politics and leadership. Lewis and Aldridge were selected to serve on the newspaper staff. Lewis was elected for Public Service Commission and the writer of one of five bills passed out of 300 written.
Lewis will be a senior at Sweet Water High School next school year. She is the daughter of Johnny and Tisha Lewis.
Aldridge will be a senior at Demopolis High School next school year. She is the granddaughter of Shirley Allen-Spencer.
