Aurora Borealis shows out in Marengo County

Residents from all around Marengo County got a chance to see the Northern Lights on Friday night for the first time in their lives without having to leave their homes.
A stronger than expected solar storm allowed the Aurora Borealis to be seen as far South as the Alabama Gulf Coast.
People looked to the skies on Friday night to see the light show. While some of the show could be seen by the naked eye, smartphones and cameras were able to highlight the colorful space phenomenon and make it easily seen.
