Thomaston teen dies in car crash

An 18-year-old Thomaston resident was killed in a single-vehicle crash that occurred at approximately 11:30 p.m. on Feb. 22.
The 18-year-old was fatally injured when the 2014 Nissan Maxima the teen was driving left the roadway, overturned, and struck a tree. The teen was not using a seat belt at the time of the crash and was pronounced deceased at the scene.
The crash occurred on Marengo County 21, approximately three miles south of Demopolis, in Marengo County.
No further information is available as Troopers with the Alabama Law Enforcement Agency’s (ALEA) Highway Patrol Division continue to investigate.
