Howard Higley Parr, age 77, of Demopolis, died Jan. 24 at his home. He was born Aug. 21, 1946 in Demopolis to Walter Howard and Irma Parr. He was the owner of Parr Convenience Store and Gas Stations and a member of First Baptist Church Demopolis.
He is survived by his wife, Paula Dunagan Parr; two sons, James “Jim” Howard Parr (Amy) and Joseph “Joe” Higley Parr (Mary Ruth); sister, Mary Anna Parr; three grandchildren, Anna Grace, Emma Kate and Shep Parr.
Funeral services were held at First Baptist Church Demopolis on Jan. 29 with Rev. Carl Williams and Kelly Etheridge officiating. Burial followed at Demopolis Memorial Gardens.
Active pallbearers were Jack Parr, Jim Pitts, Rencher Hall, Michael Dunagan, Glen Dunagan, and Ralph Dunagan.
Honorary pallbearers were all past and current employees at Parr’s Inc.
Memorials may be made to First Baptist Church Demopolis or Bigbee Humane Society.
