James Eugene Walker, age 88, of Linden died on Dec. 14 at Whitfield Regional Hospital. He was born in Hurtsboro, AL to William James Eugene and Velma Louise Walker. He was a farmer having farmed cattle and catfish. He was a member of First Baptist Church Demopolis where he was deacon emeritus. He was a Gideon and an active member of the Bethel Baptist Association and a member Alabama Farmers Federation and the Alabama Catfish Producers Association.

He is survived by his wife, Ethel C. Walker; and a sister-in-law, Patricia Ann Walker. He was preceded in death by his father, William James Eugene Walker, his mother, Velma Louise Jenkins Walker, and his brother, William Douglas Walker.

Funeral services were held at O’Bryant Chapel Funeral Home on Dec. 19 with Rev. Carl Williams officiating. Burial followed at Rosemont Cemetery in Uniontown.

Pallbearers were John Compton, Ashley Dunn, Jesse Johnson, Kevin Thomas, J. B. Warren, and Paul Warren. Honorary pallbearers were the deacons of First Baptist Church Demopolis.
