Sweet Water teen killed in crash

A single-vehicle crash that occurred at approximately 5 p.m. on Dec. 10, has claimed the life of a Sweet Water juvenile.
The 18-year-old was fatally injured when the Chrysler 200 they were a passenger in, left the roadway, struck a tree, and caught fire. The 18-year-old teen was pronounced deceased at the scene. The driver of the Chrysler was a 15-year-old juvenile from Thomasville. The 15-year-old and a 9-year-old passenger were both injured and transported to an area hospital for treatment.
The crash occurred on Alabama 10 near the 47 mile marker, approximately one mile east of Dixons Mills, in Marengo County.
No further information is available as Troopers with the Alabama Law Enforcement Agency’s (ALEA) Highway Patrol Division continue to investigate.
