Marengo Panthers lose close game with Southern Choctaw

The Marengo Panthers lost their Sept. 29 game against Southern Choctaw, 36-28. The Panthers fought hard against the Indians, but came up just short.
Defensive stats for the Panthers saw Michael James with three tackles and one fumble recovery, Devonte Tucker with five tackles and one for a loss, Jamarcus Battle with two tackles and one for a loss, Omar Autrey with four tackles, and Jamarcus Bouler with six tackles with one for a loss, and a fumble recovery.
Toriano Kelly had two tackles with one for a loss, one sack, and one blocked field goal, Centell Bruno had two tackles, O’Nealius Norwood had one tackle and a forced fumble, Jeremiah Bouler had five tackles, one forced fumble, and three passes defended, Jamarion Allen had one tackle, Jordan Moore had two tackles, Jamann McCaskey had one tackle and one pass defended.
On offense, Jeremiah Bouler completed one of four passes for 17 yards and had 96 rushing yards, two touchdowns, three receptions for 71 yards, and one fumble. Kelly had 71 rushing yards and two touchdowns, and one fumble.
Battle had 26 total rushing yards, Norwood had 34 rushing yards and one reception for 17 yards, Fisher completed three of six passes for 71 yards, threw two interceptions, and had one rushing yard, and McCaskey had 5 total rushing yards.
The Panthers will be off this week before returning to region play on Oct. 13 when they take on R.C. Hatch.
