Tigers get big road win over Bulldogs 37-8

The Demopolis Tigers went on the road Friday to take on the Marbury Bulldogs. After a scoreless first quarter, the Tigers found their rhythm and defeated the Bulldogs 37-8.
Dalyn Jackson put the Tigers on the board in the opening seconds of the second quarter when he caught a five yard pass from quarterback Kevin McElroy. The extra point kick by Jose Tellez failed, making the score 6-0 with 11:12 to play in the quarter.
The second score for the Tigers was a safety when the defense caught Marbury’s Cody Strength in the end zone, putting Demopolis up 8-0 with 11:12 still on the clock.
Keishawn Rowser ran four-yards to the end zone for the Tigers next score with 3:45 left to play in the second quarter. The PAT failed, leaving the score at 14-0.
The last score of the first half came on another completed pass from McElroy to Jackson for 74-yards with 1:46 remaining in the second quarter. Tellez’s PAT kick was good, making the score 22-0
Antonio Cox added to the Tiger score with a 15-yard midway through the third quarter. The extra point kick by Tellez was good, upping the score to 30-0 with 6:29 to play in the third quarter.
Kaleb Branch scored the last Demopolis touchdown on a four yard run with 5:05 remaining in the third quarter. The extra point kick was good, bringing the Demopolis score to 37-0.
The only score for the Bulldogs was in the fourth quarter with Cody Strength scoring on a two-yard run with 9:13 left to play in the game. The two-point conversion run was good, making the final score 37-8.
The Demopolis Tigers will be taking a break this week, but will return on Sept. 29 for the Homecoming game against Montgomery Christian.
