The Demopolis Tigers traveled down to Selma last Friday to take on the Saints. The Tigers had no trouble in their first region game of the season and beat the Saints 40-0.
Demopolis head coach Lance Tucker said he was pleased with how the Tigers bounced back from a loss last week against the Jackson Aggies.
“Anytime you come over to Selma and get a win over here, it’s always huge,” Tucker said. “I’m proud of the way the kids played coming back from a loss to get our first region win.”
Demopolis running back Keishawn Rowser scored three touchdowns for the Tigers in the blowout win. Rowser scored on runs of 35-and 31-yards as the Tigers led 13-0 after one quarter and 27-0 at halftime.
In the second quarter, Rowser added a 3-yard TD run and quarterback Kevin McElroy and Dylon Jackson connected on a 11-yard TD pass.
Demopolis scored its final two touchdowns in the fourth quarter for a 40-0 advantage.
Jackson scored on a 60-yard punt return and Conner Reynolds recovered a Selma fumble in the end zone.
The Tigers (2-1) remain on the road this week as they will pay a visit to Marbury in their second region game. Demopolis defeated Marbury 54-0 last season. Kickoff is set for 7 p.m.
