Parole hearing continued for Marengo County inmate Shareena Ann Thompson

The Alabama Board of Pardons and Paroles held 21 parole hearings Aug. 10, granting one parole and denying 20. The Board continued four paroles to a later date.
The Board also held 11 hearings on requests for pardons, granting four and denying seven. The Board continued four pardons to a later date.
One of the four continued pardons was for Shereena Ann Thompson. Thompson, 39, is serving time for a 2023 conviction and is being held at the Tutwiler Prison in Wetumpka.
Thompson was sentenced by the Marengo County Circuit Court on February 23 for theft of property in the third degree, Class D. Thompson’s hearing was on for Aug. 10, and the Alabama Board of Pardons and Paroles continued her hearing until Nov. 1 due to insufficient votes.
Thompson has a minimum release date of June 16, 2024.
