National Weather Service confirms tornado in Marengo County

The National Weather Survey Team has confirmed that a tornado passed through Marengo County on Sunday, March 26.
On Tuesday, March 28, an EF-1 tornado was confirmed to have passed through Marengo County. It developed over a wooded area west of County Road 53 in Marengo County and moved east-southeast. From there, the tornado moved across County Road 14 before crossing into Wilcox County.
The storm had an estimated wind speed of 90 mph and a path length of 4.35 miles. The path width was not reported. The tornado spent five minutes on the ground, from 8:33 p.m. to 8:38 p.m. Several pines trees in the path of the storm were snapped or uprooted, and a metal gate was crushed.
Three other tornados were confirmed to have touched down in Prattville (EF-0), Elmore County/Tallapoosa County (EF-1), and Macon County (EF-2).
There were no reported injuries in either of these tornadoes.
