The Marengo County E-911/EMA has issued a low water level alert for Marengo County and is asking citizens to begin conserving water throughout the county. Water systems are starting to run low and time is needed for the water level to build back up.
Due to the extreme cold weather over the last few days, many people have left water dripping to keep pipes from freezing. The Marengo County E-911/EMA believes this has possibly led to low water levels. With the temperatures returning to normal for this time of year there is no longer a need to leave water dripping.
The Marengo County E-911/EMA also asks that residents check for any water leaks and have them repaired as soon as possible. The more water that is conserved, the faster the levels will be back in normal range.
