The Linden Board of Education held a short called meeting last Thursday, November 10.
Under old business, Superintendent Dr. Timothy Thurman reported that the supplies needed to replace door locks at George. P Austin Middle School has arrived after nearly a year-and-a-half of waiting. Work to replace the locks will begin immediately.
Under new business, Thurman reported that junior varsity basketball has begun at GPA and are doing well.
The Linden school system is preparing for testing, including fall exams, and Thurman is pleased with administrators and staff focusing on academics. He said he likes how the principals are pushing teachers to use the technology and resources that are available.
Action Items:
- The board approved the Financial Statements for October 2022 and all bank statements have been reconciled
- The board accepted the resignation of Inell Twilley as special education assistant at Linden Elementary School
- The board approved the hiring of Tashika Lee as special education assistant at Linden Elementary School
