Non-street legal vehicles no longer allowed on Linden streets

Dear Citizens of Linden,
Due to numerous complaints over the years, the City of Linden, Al has determined that non-street legal motorized vehicles will no longer be allowed on the streets of Linden, Al. Non-Street legal vehicles includes 4-wheelers, side-by-sides, golf carts and any type of ATV deemed off road. In order for a vehicle to be deemed street legal it must meet all requirements.
Requirements: 1. Insurance
- Signal lights, Head lights Tail lights and Brake lights
- License plate w/registration
- Proper tires
- Proper muffler
- Helmet (ATVs)
- If windshield equipped, must have windshield wiper blades
In addition, the driver must be 16 or older and posses a valid driver’s license.
Any parent or adult who allows a non-driver’s license minor to operate a non-street legal or street legal vehicle on the streets of Linden, Al., will be cited.
The Police Department will strictly enforce any traffic violations committed by drivers of non-street legal or street legal vehicles on the streets of Linden, Al.
First offense will be a written warning. Any offenses thereafter, will result in a citation(s) and possibly being towed.
