William George (Billy) Rentz age 96 of Campground, AL, passed away on Saturday, September 3, 2022 at Woodhaven Manor Nursing Home. He was born on February 26, 1926 to George G, Rentz and Maggie Belle Adams Rentz. He was a retired cotton and cattle farmer.
Billy was a lifelong active member of Campground United Methodist Church. He was also an active member of the Farm Federation, Cattleman’s Association, and The Gideons International. He was a World War II veteran and served in the 114th Infantry Regiment in the European Theatre of Operations. He served as a Methodist Youth Counselor and Sunday School teacher for many years.
He is survived by his brother, Irvin G Rentz of Mobile, AL: nieces and nephews, Debbie and Paul Jackson of Campground, AL: Buddy Stallworth of Daphne, AL; Irvin and Julie Rentz of Mobile, AL: Leslie Rentz of Mobile, AL; and Cindy and Bryan Rayburn of Mobile, AL. He is also survived by 7 great nephews, 6 great great nieces and nephews, and devoted friends, Henry and Wanda Morgan, Roger and Fay Gunter, and R.C. and Iona Watts.
He was preceded in death by his parents George G, Rentz and Maggie Belle Adams Rentz.
Graveside funeral services were held at Campground United Methodist Church Cemetery on Tuesday, September 6, 2022 at 3:00 pm with Rev. Scott Armstrong officiating.
Pallbearers were: Wes Young, Jeff Nettles, Clay Nettles, Damien Morgan, Caleb Morgan and Landon Morgan.
