Sweet Water Bulldogs roll past R.C. Hatch

The Sweet Water Bulldogs traveled to Perry County last week to take on the R.C. Hatch Bobcats, and had no trouble scoring early and often against them.
The first score came on a 7-yard run by Jonathan Morris with 10:12 left in the first quarter. David Etheridge’s PAT kick was good, and the Bulldogs jumped out to an early 7-0 lead.
Near the end of the first quarter, Morris scored again on another 7-yard run with 1:17 to go. Etheridge’s PAT kick was good, making the Bulldog score 14-0.
Next to score the Sweet Water was Timothy Kelley who ran it in from 2-yards out. The PAT was good, and the Bulldogs upped their score to 20-0 with 7:18 to play in the second quarter.
Elliot Lucy scored the last touchdown of the first half when he ran 23-yards to the end zone with 4:07 to play in the half. The extra point kick was good, and the Bulldogs took a 27-0 lead into the locker room at halftime.
The third quarter began with an interception by Kelley who ran it back for a touchdown. Etheridge’s extra point kick was good, giving the Bulldogs a 34-0 lead.
Deshanard Blanks scored next on a 17-yard run with 4:08 to play in the third quarter. The extra point attempt was good, upping the Bulldog score to 41-0.
The last Sweet Water score came when Ethan Carr ran 5-yards to the end zone with 9:54 left in the fourth quarter. Etheridge’s PAT kick was blocked, making the score 47-0.
R.C. Hatch’s two scores came in the fourth quarter. The Bobcats scored on an 82-yard run with 9:38 left in the second half. The two-point conversion attempt failed, but the Bobcats were finally on the scoreboard. The last score of the game came with 0:16 left on a 15-yard run. The Two point conversion pass was good, making the final score 47-14.
This Friday, September 16, the Bulldogs will host the A.L. Johnson Eagles for Homecoming. Kickoff is set for 7:00 p.m. and all tickets are available on GoFan.com.
