During a short called meeting, the Linden Board of Education approved two hiring’s and one employee contract.
The first hiring was Antwone Motley as the new principal of Linden High School. Motley comes to Marengo from the Selma City School System and received a unanimous vote from the screening committee who interviewed for the position.
Superintendent Dr. Timothy Thurman believes Motley will be a good fit in the Linden City School System.
“I think he will be just what we are looking for,” said Thurman.
At the time of the meeting, a start date had not been determined as Motley had not yet been released from contractual obligations in his current position. Thurman also said a time and date for Motley to meet with the Board, staff, parents, and students.
Other items approved during the meeting was the hiring of Jertrice Richardson as Mental Health Coordinator for Linden City Schools, and a contract between Antwone Motley and Linden City Schools.
