The Linden Board of Education had its regular monthly meeting on Monday, June 27. The board first heard the auditor’s report from Jim Gardner, and briefly discussed the GPA Middle School project.
Gardner reported that there were no errors noted in the school system’s presentation of its financial statements. The internal control reports had no conditions to report, material witnesses to report, or material non-compliance with regulations.
During the regular meeting, Dr. Timothy Thurman said he will be meeting with the contractor in charge of the GPA Middle School renovation project and the Division of Construction Management (DCM) on Thursday to discuss the gym floor at the middle school. The contractor still has concerns about the flooring, despite the transition from the trade center building having already begun.
Thurman said he wants to get the matter taken care of before the new school year begins in August.
Action Items:
- Board approved the financial statements for May 2022 and all bank statements have been reconciled
- Board accepted the resignation letter from Devante Giles as Special Education Resource Teacher at GPA
