COVID-19 numbers in Marengo County, surrounding area

Marengo County’s positive cases of COVID-19 currently sit at 2,973, according to the Alabama Department of Public Health. There have been 11 new cases over the last two weeks.
As of Monday, August 30, the number of deaths related to the virus is 69. The number of people tested has increased to 12,526.
The Marengo County Health Department has information available for obtaining a COVID-19 vaccination. Visit MCHD online portal at ALCovidVaccine.gov to check your eligibility for vaccination and make appointments for COVID-19 vaccinations at county health departments. Some county health departments are providing drive-thru or walk-in clinics. Search for clinics near you using the Vaccine Clinic Dashboard or COVID-19 Table.
The Alabama Department of Public Health has extended eligibility for the Pfizer-BioNTech COVID-19 vaccine to include individuals age 12 and older. The Moderna and Johnson & Johnson vaccines are both available to individuals 18 years of age and older.
COVID-19 data for surrounding counties includes Sumter County has reported 1,056 cases and 32 deaths; Wilcox County has 1,271 cases and 30 deaths; Greene County has 928 cases, 34 deaths; Hale County has 2,252 and 78 deaths; Clarke County, 3,521 cases and 61 deaths; Dallas County is reporting 3,597 cases with 154 deaths; Choctaw County has 613 cases and 25 deaths; and Perry County is reporting 1,082 cases with 27 deaths.
The statewide number of confirmed cases is 543,405 with 3,433 new cases over the past two weeks. In Alabama, 5,909,105 COVID-19 vaccines have been delivered, and 3,872,795 doses have been administered.
