The Demopolis Tigers improved to 2-0 on the season with a 34-14 win over the McAdory Yellowjackets.
After a scoreless first quarter, Demopolis struck first when quarterback Tyler Drake completed a 9-yard pass to Price Smith with 9:24 left in the second quarter. The point-after attempt by Cole Wilson was good, and Demopolis led 7-0 with 5:07 left in the second quarter. McAdory followed with a 30-yard touchdown pass from quarterback Cameron Shepherd to Jervontae Gray to bring the score to 7-6 with 1:28 left in the second quarter. The extra point by Malik Robinson was good, and the game was tied 7-7 with 0:25 left in the second quarter.
Demopolis increased their lead 13-7 when Kelvin Rowser scored a touchdown on a 4-yard run with 10:01 left in the third quarter. The PAT by Wilson was good, and the Tigers 14-7 10:07 left in the third. The Tigers scored again in the third when Harrison Carroll intercepted the ball and returned it 41-yards for a touchdown with 2:10 left in the third quarter. Wilson’s extra point was good, and the Tigers increased their lead to 21-7 with 2:07 left in the third quarter.
The fourth quarter began with Demopolis scoring on a 28-yard pass from Tyler Drake to Cameron Wright with 9:44 left in the game. Wilson continued his PAT scoring streak and brought the score to 27-7 with 7:29 left in the game. McAdory responded with a 41-yard touchdown pass from Cameron Shepherd to Cameron Harris with 7:27 left in the game. The extra point by Malik Robinson was good, and the score was 27-14, with 5:29 left. Demopolis sealed their victory when Kelvin Rowser scored on a 19-yard run with a 1:35 left in the game. The PAT was completed, and the final score was 34-14.
