The Demopolis Area Chamber of Commerce announces plans for the 104th Annual Chamber Celebration.
This year’s event will be held Thursday, Feb. 27 at the Demopolis Civic Center. The evening will include a beer and wine reception, silent auction, entertainment and recognition of community members for their outstanding contributions in 2019. Tickets can be purchased at the chamber office or from any current board member beginning Monday, Feb. 3. Individual tickets are $35 and tables are $250.
The chamber is seeking nominations for the following: Business of the Year, Chamber Volunteer of the Year, Citizen of the Year, Community Spirit Award, and Lifetime Achievement Award. In addition, the chamber is adding a Youth Volunteer of the Year Award.
“This year we will recognize a young person in our community for their outstanding volunteer work with the Youth Volunteer of the Year Award,” said DACC Executive Director Sidney Freeman.
“These awards focus on activity and excellence in the community over the past year. Nominees are individuals and businesses that work to meet the needs of the citizens and inspire others to be actively involved in our community.”
Nominations for all awards may be emailed to director@demopolischamber.com or dropped off at the chamber office, 102 E. Washington St., in downtown Demopolis. A one to two paragraph nomination offering specific reasons for the person or business being nominated is encouraged. The deadline for nominations is Friday, Feb. 14.
For more information contact the chamber office at 289-0270.
