On Tuesday, December 3 Parr’s will match all donations made to the Foundation up to $5,000
This Giving Tuesday, donations made to the Demopolis City Schools Foundation will have double the impact thanks to the generosity of Parr’s Chevron.
The school foundation is partnering with Parr’s to support Demopolis classrooms this holiday season. On Tuesday, Dec. 3, Parr’s will match all donations made to the foundation up to $5,000.
“Every single child in the Demopolis schools benefits from our grants — whatever innovative ideas that our teachers have. As a member of the DCSF Board of Directors I see the impact these grants have on our classrooms. The support of donors is what makes this work possible and we are happy to help encourage the community to give,” said Joe Parr.
Community members are encouraged to visit the foundation’s website at www.demopolis.org and give online or via Facebook to take advantage of this match on Giving Tuesday. Additionally, any checks mailed by Dec. 3 will be counted in the match as well.
“Every year over 250 community donors support the foundation’s efforts to support excellence in Demopolis schools. Giving Tuesday will close out our 2019 Membership Campaign and support our work for the coming year. From library books to laptops, support for art and music education, donations to the foundation are the best way community members can impact our schools,” said DCSF Executive Director Amanda Barnes.
“Parr’s is known for their generous donations to the Demopolis community for many generations. We want to give back to all of you who continue to support us. The Parr family proudly supports the work of the Demopolis City School Foundation and everything it stands for. We live in this town. We give to this town. We care about this town,” said Chelsee Mullinax, marketing director for Parr’s.
The Demopolis City Schools Foundation is an independent nonprofit established in 1993 to encourage private charitable support of the Demopolis public school system. Governed by a 33-member Board of Directors, the Foundation has provided more than $1,300,000 in classroom grants since its inception.
Founded in 1942, Parr’s is a third generation, company owned and operated business. Brothers Jim and Joe Parr currently own and operate nine Chevron/Texaco Convenience Stores across West and Central Alabama, as well as a bulk fuel and oil plant. They have also recently opened a state-of-the-art tunnel wash. The Parr’s organization is committed to quality products and exceptional service in all aspects of business.
