Mayor John Laney signed a proclamation declaring Oct. 14-18 Chamber of Commerce Week 2019 in the City of Demopolis.
Laney said the Demopolis Area Chamber of Commerce has contributed economically and civically to residents since its inception 103 years ago. The chamber encourages the growth of new and current businesses in all aspects, including retail, industrial and commercial.
The mission of DACC is to “provide leadership and coordination for the advancement of economic vitality and quality of life for the total community.”
Members of the chamber are able to increase their customer reach through various networking, outreach and referral opportunities with the support of DACC.
Jeremy Arthur, president and CEO of the Chamber of Commerce Association of Alabama, said the chambers of commerce throughout the state all contribute to Alabama’s economic well-being.
“Our local chambers of commerce ensure continued access to the notion of free enterprise by securing a competitive marketplace that allows businesses to compete and grow,” he said, later adding that “The men and women of these chambers make it their mission to ‘build a better Alabama through strong chambers of commerce.’”
DACC is led by Executive Director Sidney Freeman and 12 other board members. For more information, contact DACC at director@demopolischamber.com or 334-289-0270.
