A Demopolis man was killed and another arrested following a shooting Friday, Oct. 4 at a residence on Hilltop Circle.

According to the Demopolis Police Department, Jeremy Dewayne Daniels, 32, sustained a gunshot wound to the upper torso. Daniels was immediately transferred to the emergency room at Whitfield Regional Hospital were he was later pronounced dead.

Dontrell Dion Johnson, 32, also of Demopolis, was arrested following the incident and is charged with murder.

According to DPD Chief Rex Flowers, the circumstances surrounding the shooting remain under investigation.
