Officials of Black Warrior Electric Membership Corporation recently presented back-to-school supplies to Greene County District Judge Lillie Jones-Osborne to be given away at the annual National Night Out Back to School Rally in Eutaw. Black Warrior donated 300 school supply packs.

The Back to School Rally is held each year as part of National Night Out, an annual event that promotes community relationships. Numerous community organizations take part in the rally, and school supplies are given away to schoolchildren.

This year’s rally was held July 25 on the lawn of the Old Courthouse in downtown Eutaw.

“We’re proud to again contribute to this great cause, and we thank Judge Osborne and other organizers and participants for putting on this event,” Black Warrior board trustee Reynolds said. “As a Greene County resident, I feel it’s important to help local schools and schoolchildren.”

Reynolds’ fellow board trustee Eatman noted that Black Warrior EMC this year also awarded scholarships to 10 graduating high school seniors from area high schools. The scholarships are given to dependents of Black Warrior members. “The school supply packs, like the scholarships, show our commitment to education,” Eatman said.
