Cooper Swims, the 2-year old son of Mike and Jennifer Swims, was born Nov. 10, 2016 in Tuscaloosa and died July 26, 2019 at Monroe Carell Jr. Children’s Hospital at Vanderbilt.

Cooper was preceded in death by his paternal grandfather, Michael Raymond Swims.

In addition to his parents, Cooper is survived by a brother, Conner Swims;  paternal grandmother, Denise Swims Jones of Dyersburg, Tennessee;  maternal grandparents, Paul and Nancy Henson of Morrison, Tennessee;  aunt, Wendy Bass of Springfield, Missouri;  two uncles, Josh (Tabitha) Swims of West Plains, Missouri and David (Julia) Henson of New Orleans, Louisiana;  several cousins and many loved ones from the Central Church of Christ and surrounding congregations.

Funeral service will be held Tuesday, July 30, 2 p.m., at Central Church of Christ with Ben Bailey and Jake Sutton officiating. Burial will follow in the Old Philadelphia Cemetery at Vervilla. Visitation will be held Monday from 5 to 8 p.m. at Central Church of Christ.
