The Alabama Tombigbee Regional Commission is preparing a Human Services Coordinated Transit Plan for its 10-county region. The purpose of the plan is to identify transportation needs primarily among the elderly, disabled, and low income populations. The plan will establish goals and strategies for meeting these needs including the coordination of resources. Agencies applying for Federal Transit Administration (FTA) Sections 5310, 5311, 5316, and 5317 funding must participate in this process to be eligible for funding. ATRC will be holding a public meeting to gather input for the plan on April 30, 10 a.m., at Rooster Hall, in Demopolis. Other meetings are scheduled in Camden and Jackson, Alabama.
The public is encouraged to attend and provide input regarding transportation needs. For more information, or if you require special accommodations at the hearing, contact ATRC at 334-682-4234 at least 24 hours prior to the meeting.
