Two Demopolis youth football teams will be traveling Saturday to Holt, Alabama where they will compete for championship titles.
The Demopolis 11- and 12-year-olds squad will be playing Central-Tuscaloosa after putting together a 9-2 season, including three wins in the playoffs. They defeated Bibb County 32-0 last week to advance to the title game. Kickoff of that game is 12:30 p.m.
The 11 and 12-years are led by Head Coach Leroy Harris.
Also set to take the field for a championship is the Demopolis 9- and 10-year-olds. They also play in Holt and will face Tuscaloosa County of Northport. The team hopes to continue the winning ways they enjoyed all season long, being undefeated at 12-0. They defeated Paul Bryant last week in the semi-finals, 18-6, to advance to the title game. Kickoff for the title game is set for 11:15 a.m.
The 9- and 10-year old team is led by Head Coach Jim McAlpine.
The teams invite the community to come and support them as they look to bring championship trophies back home to Demopolis.
